Day 2: Blogging for Scrapbookers
A memory that I treasure started out as a fairly mundane day. It was a half day of work followed by a doctor's appointment for my oldest daughter. It was a routine prenatal appointment with measurements and explanations of test results. Then it morphed into something extraordinary. The doctor got out the Doppler stethoscope. At 14 weeks, we were getting to hear the heart beat. At first we heard Kelsey's heart beat--> the slow steady rythm. Then the doctor started moving the transducer and the rythm changed. It was the heartbeat of my grandchild beating at 156 beats a minute. But the best part wasn't the sound but the look. The look of wonder on my daughter's face as she realized that her pregnancy was real and the was a baby inside her. She had known she was pregnant, the morning sickness certainly proved that. But I don't think it was real until that moment. This isn't the plan that I had for my daughter but I know we are going to make it through as a family and together. (picture to follow tomorrow!)

What a great story! The first heartbeat is an amazing moment. I am in Shimelle's Blogging for Scrapbookers class.
What a beautiful moment and so special that you were able to share it with your daughter!
Hello, Kim! I noticed you as a new follower on my blog this morning but didn't realize who you were until I followed the link to your blog. So nice to reconnect, even in blog-world!
Congratulations on your impending grandparenthood ...there's nothing like it!
~Hugs~
What an awesome realization for her and for you to witness it. TFS!
A magical moment indeed! Thanks for stopping by and see you in "class"!
This is a magical moment, no matter what the circumstances. See you in class.
